Door and Fire Door Wrapping

Refresh every door in the building. Without replacing a single one.

Internal doors take more daily wear than almost any other surface. Architectural film transforms tired, chipped and dated doors in place — no removal, no rehanging, no redecorating around new frames. Fire-rated films available for fire doors, with full compliance documentation as standard.

Why wrap doors instead of replacing them

Every door in the building. None of them removed.

Replacing a tired or dated door means removing it, disposing of it, ordering a replacement, fitting it and redecorating the reveal around the new frame. For a single door that is a manageable job. For a building with 50, 100 or 200 doors, that process multiplied across every door becomes an expensive, slow programme that generates a genuine amount of waste.

Wrapping keeps the door exactly where it is. Architectural film bonds directly to the existing door leaf, so only the surface changes — the core, the frame and the ironmongery all stay in place. Each door takes minutes rather than hours, and there is no plastering, no painting and no drying time to wait around for.

The practical difference on a large building is enormous. The doors stay hung, the frames stay untouched, and the corridor stays accessible throughout the programme. Facilities teams can keep the building fully operational while the work happens around them, floor by floor or wing by wing.

Common questions

What people ask before booking.

No, provided fire-rated film is used and the door leaf is not structurally altered. Velfi uses fire-classified films and provides documentation confirming the specification for every fire door wrapped.

Typically 8 to 15 standard doors per day depending on condition and access. Programmes of 100 or more doors are scheduled in phases to minimise disruption to the building.

Minor surface damage such as chips, scratches and dents can usually be filled and wrapped over. Structurally damaged doors should be replaced, and that assessment happens before quoting.

Over 1,000 finishes are available, including solid colours in matt, satin and gloss, and wood grains from light oak to dark walnut. Solid matt colours and contemporary wood effects are the most popular for commercial doors.

Yes. Full RAMS and health and safety documentation are provided as standard for all commercial door and fire door programmes.
