Staff Kitchen and Canteen Wrapping
Staff kitchens and canteens take more punishment than any domestic kitchen. Spills, stains, heavy daily use and years of neglect leave them looking tired. Architectural film transforms cupboards, worktops, splashbacks and serving counters in place — no builders, no kitchen closure, and a result durable enough for communal commercial use.
Why the staff kitchen matters more than you think
The staff kitchen is the most used shared space in most offices, and it is often the most neglected. A tired, stained kitchen undermines the workspace experience for everyone who uses it every single day, and it is one of the first things candidates and visitors notice on a walk-through.
Wrapping transforms the visible surfaces — cupboard doors, drawer fronts, worktops, splashbacks and serving counters — at a fraction of the cost and disruption of a refit. The units stay in place, the appliances stay connected, and the kitchen stays usable throughout the work.
This is different from a domestic kitchen wrap in two ways: the materials need to be more durable, fire-rated, chemical-resistant and built for heavy wear, and the scheduling needs to work around the business day rather than a household. Both are standard for Velfi's commercial projects. For residential kitchen wrapping in Cambridge, see the kitchen wrapping page.
From tired to transformed
Chipped laminate doors become a clean matt navy or white. Stained worktops become a marble or stone effect. Yellowed splashbacks become a crisp solid colour. The cupboard boxes and appliances stay exactly where they are — only the surfaces change. The look goes from a kitchen everyone avoids to one people actually want to use.
Chipped and dated laminate wrapped in a clean matt finish, in any of over 1,000 colours.
Stained and scratched worktops wrapped in marble, stone or solid colour effects.
Yellowed or grimy splashbacks refreshed with a crisp, easy-clean solid colour.

Common questions
No. Work is scheduled so the kitchen stays usable, either by working outside business hours or phasing the work across different areas.
The films are non-porous and easy to clean with standard commercial products. They do not harbour bacteria the way chipped or worn laminate does.
The process is the same, but the materials and scheduling differ. Commercial staff kitchens use more durable, fire-rated films and the work is planned around business operations rather than a household.
