Why these guides exist

Written from the job, not the brochure.

Most content about architectural film online is either a manufacturer's product sheet or a sales page dressed up as advice. Neither one tells you what actually happens on installation day, what a job really costs once you account for prep and access, or where a particular finish falls short. These guides are different because they come from real Cambridge installations rather than a marketing brief: kitchens actually wrapped, window film actually fitted, commercial spaces actually turned around over a weekend.

They cover the three areas Velfi works in every week. Kitchen wrapping is the one homeowners ask about most, so the guides go into real cost ranges, how it compares to a respray or a full replacement, and which finishes hold up. Window film covers solar control, privacy and decorative options for homes and offices, including the questions people only think to ask once the quote is in front of them. Commercial wrapping is written for facilities managers and developers who need documentation, fire ratings and a fixed price before anything gets signed off, not just a nice-looking finish.

The aim is simple: answer the question honestly enough that reading the guide is worth more than a five-minute call would have been. If it isn't, that's a guide that still needs writing.

Every figure and process described here comes from jobs actually completed across Cambridge and Cambridgeshire, not a national average pulled from a supplier's marketing pack. Where a guide gives a price range, it's built from real quotes. Where it describes a process, it's the same process used on the next job. That's also why the guides get updated rather than left static: when a finish, a supplier price or a piece of guidance changes on the ground, it changes here too.
