Film matched to your glass before we quote
Written 10-year warranty on every installation
Many buildings in Saffron Walden are listed or in the conservation area. Window film is applied to the glass and can be removed later, so it is usually a lighter option than replacing glass or adding secondary glazing, though listed-building consent rules vary and you should check yours. Older glass also needs checking for condition, and we tell you before quoting if a pane is not suitable.

Which film?
The right film for the problem you have.
The easiest way to pick a film is to begin with the problem. Below is how we match the common ones, for homes and businesses in Saffron Walden, with links to the full page for each film.
Matched to your glass. Film absorbs some heat, which can stress certain glass, so we check your glazing before recommending anything.
Inside or outside. Most film is fitted inside. Exterior-grade films exist for outside fitting, often on double and triple glazing and hard-to-reach glass.
Mainly a summer product. It cuts glare, heat and UV. It is not a substitute for heating or ventilation.
In writing. The film named, the glass checked and the warranty confirmed in your quote. Read more on our solar window film page.
Working in Saffron Walden
How a window film job runs in Saffron Walden.
Period windows in Saffron Walden vary in size and age, so we measure each pane individually and check the glass before recommending anything. Frosted and reeded film are the usual choices for privacy, and decorative film works well on shopfronts and glazed doors. Because film sits on the glass and can be removed later, it is a lighter option than replacing glazing. For listed buildings, check the rules with your local authority first. Send photos of the glass and the building, and you will get a fixed quote within 24 hours.
Homes and businesses
Window film for homes, offices and venues.
At home, people ask us about bathroom windows, street-facing glass, sunny extensions and glazed doors. In business, it is meeting-room privacy, screen glare and shopfront branding. Our commercial work covers offices, retail, schools, healthcare, hospitality and landlords and letting agents, with fitting out of hours when needed. Our window film guide gives the full picture.

The fitting
How window film is fitted, and what to expect.
The glass is cleaned and measured. Film is cut to size, applied wet with a slip solution, squeegeed flat and trimmed to the edge. Most jobs take between one hour and half a day, and rooms are usable straight away.
You may see tiny moisture pockets for a few days as the film cures. They normally clear by themselves. We explain how to look after it, including when to clean the glass, and confirm the 10-year warranty in writing.

Most window film goes on the inside. Exterior-grade films are made for outside fitting and are often chosen for double or triple glazing, skylights and hard-to-reach glass. We decide which suits your glass and confirm it before we quote.
Professional installations carry a 10-year warranty confirmed in writing, and manufacturer warranties on the films vary by brand and product.
